HGCS Welcomes New Baseball Coach, Grady Little

Parents of HGCS Students:

I am pleased to announce that Grady Little has joined the staff of Hickory Grove Christian School as the new Director of Baseball Operations.

Grady is a former Major League manager, having managed the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Boston Red Sox. He also coached for the San Diego Padres and Cleveland Indians. Before Grady Little his time in the major leagues, Grady spent more than 15 years managing various minor league teams including the Durham Bulls and the Richmond Braves.

Prior to his coaching career, Grady was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 12th round of the 1968 MLB draft and played in the Braves and New York Yankees' organizations.

As Director of Baseball Operations, Grady will oversee Hickory Grove Christian's middle school, junior varsity, and varsity baseball programs. Grady will administer all aspects of the organization including camps, clinics, and workout programs. This summer, Grady will launch the inaugural HGCS baseball camp and coaching clinic.

Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, Grady will serve as the Head Coach of the varsity baseball team taking over for Alan Baker who has faithfully served as interim Head Coach since 2011.

Grady is a graduate of Garinger High School. He and Debi, his wife of 41 years, make their home in Charlotte. Also residing in Charlotte are his son Eric, daughter-in-law Toni, and three grandchildren: Braden, Luke, and Jace. Grady is a committed believer and active member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Grady will uphold the school's Christian mission, leading student athletes to walk with Christ daily, to seek excellence in the classroom, and to pursue their athletic dreams at the highest level.
