HGCS Announces Ed Reynolds as Athletic Director

Parents of HGCS Students:

I am pleased to announce that Ed Reynolds has joined the staff of Hickory Grove Christian School as Athletic Director. Ed replaces Grant Coffey who has served in this role for the last 10 years and will continue to serve as Associate Athletic Director.

Ed is a former NFL executive who served in key leadership positions in football operations and security. Before his time in the NFL league office, Ed played defensive linebacker for nine years with the New England Patriots and for one year with the New York Giants. Ed also served for 16 years in the reserve service for the United States Army.

As Athletic Director, Ed will oversee all of Hickory Grove Christian's men and women's middle school, junior varsity, and varsity programs for all sports. He will administer all aspects of the athletic department, including expansion of the program, development, promotion, facility enhancements, and recruitment/development of coaching staff. Ed will also uphold the school's Christian mission, leading student athletes to walk with Christ daily, to seek excellence in the classroom, and to pursue their athletic dreams at the highest level.

Ed is a graduate of the University of Virginia. He and Pamela, his wife of 25 years, will relocate and make their home in Charlotte. They have four sons, Ed II, Joseph, Ethan, and Jason. Ed is a committed believer and will attend Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

Please join me in welcoming Ed Reynolds to our team. I am thankful for his willingness to serve our school and am looking forward to great times ahead at Hickory Grove.

In His Service and For His Glory,

GT Freeman, Head of School
