Alumni Relations Board

Matthew Helton (2011)

Matthew lives in Charlotte, NC. He enjoys hearing great things about our alumni, as well as visiting campus when possible. He wants to make sure our alumni stay connected and provide opportunities for networking, careers and new memorable experiences together.

Shannon (Austin) Lancaster (2004)

Shannon currently lives in Mesa, Arizona, with her husband Sam and son Paxton. Since graduating HGCS she has earned a Bachelor’s in Business Management from Appalachian State University and a Master’s in Business Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University along with being commissioned in the United States Army where she currently serves as UH60 Black Hawk pilot in the Arizona Army National Guard.

“I am grateful to be a part of the Alumni Board in order to create an environment of pride and fellowship even after graduation. HGCS leaves a lasting impact on the lives of their Alumni and it’s important to keep telling their stories and success.”

Miles Malloy (2023)

My time at HG was incredibly valuable to me. It provided a supportive community and laid a biblical foundation that has been essential during my college years. The connections I made at HG have played a significant role in shaping who I am today. That’s why I’m eager to join the newly formed HGCS alumni board—to give back to a community that has given me so much and to help ensure that future students have the same positive experiences I did. The light of Christ shines brightly at HG, and I want that to continue for students even after they graduate. I’m excited to do whatever I can to keep alumni connected to the ministry of Hickory Grove!

Joseph E. Tanner (2009)

Joseph was a lifer at HGCS, graduating in 2009. Afterwards, he earned a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University. He now lives in Seneca, SC, and works as a Project Manager for a software consulting firm. Joseph married his wife Melicia in 2018 and they have a 1 year old daughter, Mia, adopted in 2023. Joseph also serves as a Deacon of Churchwide Events at Crosspoint Church in Clemson, SC, and coaches youth basketball. He is excited to help launch the HGCS Alumni Board in an effort to share the outstanding achievements of our alumni and tell the encouraging stories of how God is working in their lives to this day.

 Brittany Cowan Harris (2005)

“My time at HGCS really fueled me with scripture while helping me also apply this to my life and be a light out in the world! The highlight of my time there was our Dominican Republic Senior mission trip! I am excited to be a part of the alumni committee, ready to serve to help keep everyone connected!”
