Worshipping Together
“Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!”
psalm 34:3
Worship is at the heart of who we are at Hickory Grove Christian School. Once a month, students, faculty and pastors from Hickory Grove Baptist Church gather to praise God together as one body. Elementary students meet first, then middle and high school students worship together, each with a message for their age.
Chapel isn't a break from learning. It brings together what students hear in Bible class, pray about in morning devotions and live out every day, and it reminds all of us that we belong to something bigger than one classroom.
Students don’t just watch worship happen. They learn to lead it. High school students audition for Chapel Band, middle schoolers lead in Praise Team, and our performing arts students lead the annual Christmas Chapel. After chapel, middle school students look back over their chapel notes and high schoolers write in their Here I Stand journals, so the message stays with them.
Chapel at Home
The conversation doesn't have to end when chapel does. After every chapel, families receive a Chapel at Home recap that includes a summary of the message, the Scripture behind it, and a few questions to talk through with your child. There's an Elementary version and a Middle and High School version, so the questions are age-appropriate for your child.
Use them at the dinner table, on the drive to practice, or at bedtime. Ask your child what they heard and how it applies to their week, and share what God is teaching you too.
